How to Make Chocolate Dipped Potato Chips
- Step 1. Prepare the baking sheet. First line a baking sheet with parchment paper or wax paper.

Step 2. Melt the chocolate. Place the chocolate in a microwave safe bowl. Heat in 25 second intervals, stirring after each interval, until the chocolate is melted. Be careful not to overcook the chocolate. See How to Melt Chocolate Chips.

Step 3. Coat the potato chips in chocolate. Dip each chip about 2/3 of the way into the melted chocolate.

Step 4. Gently tap the coated chip on the edge of the bowl to remove any excess chocolate.

Step 5. Then put the chips on the baking sheet. Keep doing this until all the chips have been coated. Finally, allow the chocolate to dry completely. They will stick together if not given enough time to set.
Storage
Store any leftover chips in an airtight container for up to 5 days. We suggest refrigerating these potato chips and not leaving them at room temperature. Just make sure that moisture does not get in the container or it will make the chip soggy.
Freezing this recipe is not recommended as it will change the texture of the chips. They are best eaten fresh.

Pro Tips
- Make sure the chocolate isn’t too heavy. If you use too much chocolate, the chips will break. Remove any excess chocolate after dipping.
- Ridges work best. Chips that have ridges work best to support the layer of chocolate.
