Why We Love This

While I love traditional Chocolate Pudding, this healthier alternative is really delicious. I have made it a few times and it’s really yummy.

Cottage Cheese Chocolate pudding is not expensive or time consuming to make. You will love the creamy texture for a protein packed snack. With its low sugar and high protein, it can help stabilize blood sugar levels.

You don’t need to be a fan of cottage cheese to enjoy this delicious pudding with essential nutrients and rich chocolate flavor.

Ingredients

Ingredients for Cottage Cheese Pudding - cottage cheese, cocoa powder, maple syrup.
  • Cottage Cheese. Full Fat Cottage Cheese will be richer than low fat. You can swap the cottage cheese for Greek Yogurt.
  • Cocoa Powder. You can increase the cocoa powder if desired, but I think this amount is perfect.
  • Maple Syrup. Adjust to taste if needed. Honey, Monk Fruit Sweetener and Coconut Sugar are more great options.

Find the complete list of ingredients at the bottom of the page.

Pro Tips

  • Adjust the sweetener. You can adjust the amount of maple sweetener. I used 3 tablespoons but if you prefer it less sweet, use only 2 tablespoons.
  • Cottage Cheese. Whole milk cottage cheese provides a richer and creamier flavor, but you can use reduced fat or fat free cottage cheese if desired.
  • Vanilla Pudding. If you prefer vanilla pudding, don’t use the cocoa powder and add vanilla protein powder for another high protein option. You can also add vanilla extract.
  • Extra Protein. Add a scoop of protein powder to pack even more protein into this recipe. You can use whey protein powder or plant based. Milk may need to be added to the mixture if you add protein powder.
  • Dairy Free. Swap the cottage cheese for dairy-free cottage cheese.
  • Chia Seeds. Toss in chia seeds when blending for added fiber.
  • Peanut Butter. For a delicious combination of chocolate and peanut butter, add peanut butter into the mixture.
  • Food Processor or Blender. Either option will work to make this recipe. Feel free to use the one you have.
  • Toppings. While optional, feel free to top with chocolate chips, granola or nuts. We also like fresh fruit including strawberries, blueberries, and raspberries.
