Ingredients

Ingredients for Deep Fried Snickers - Snickers Bars, pancake batter, eggs, oil and powdered sugar.
  • Full Size Snickers Candy Bars. If you have fun-sized snickers bars, you can use those but will need more. You can also use other chocolate bars such as Milky Way. Try making Homemade Snickers.
  • Milk. Whole milk gives the batter the richest taste in this recipe.
  • Powdered Sugar. Sift the powdered sugar if it is lumpy.

Step By Step Instructions

  • Step 1. First, remove the wrappers from the snickers. Place on a baking sheet tray and freeze at least 4 hours. You can also freeze the snickers bars over night if you prefer.
  • Step 2. Heat the oil in the pan, dutch oven or deep fryer. You need 3 inches of vegetable oil in a large pot or fryer. Heat the oil to 375 degrees F before the frying step.
Bowl of pancake batter with egg added.

Step 3. Make the batter for the candy bars. Use a large bowl and combine the dry ingredients, egg, milk and the vegetable oil.

Step 5. Coat each candy bar in pancake batter.

Snickers in hot oil.

Step 6. Place the candy bar in the hot oil inside the deep pot. For best results, I suggest frying the snickers 1 at a time. Continue to flip the coated snickers and fry until golden brown.  Allow to cool on wire rack.

Step 7. Place the treats on a paper-towel-lined plate to drain excess oil from the frying process.

Step 8. Finally, sprinkle with powder sugar and serve. You can also sprinkle with fine sea salt.

Storage

Store leftover bars inside a container with an airtight lid. You can leave them at room temperature. They do not need to be stored in the refrigerator.

Just keep in mind these are best enjoyed fresh. They do not take long at all to cook so I recommend making them fresh.

Pro Tips

  • These are best eaten right away. However, you can make the batter ahead of time.
  • Only fry one candy bar at a time. Don’t overcrowd the pan while deep frying.
  • You can use fun size candy to make little bites. This is a delicious way to use leftover candy and turn into a fun treat.
  • Powdered sugar is the topping of choice for this recipe. However, sprinkles are also fun as well for special occasions.
  • Don’t skip freezing the bars. It is imperative to allow enough time in the freezer to ensure best results and less mess.
