Anytime the craving strikes for something sweet, we tend to make rolo pretzels. What’s not to love about the delicious combination of chocolate, caramel and pretzels?

Everyone goes crazy over it and it’s one of the easiest baked treats. The kids and I have been making Peanut Butter Pretzel Bites, Rolo Pretzel Turtles, and Rolo Pretzel Sandwich Recipe for years.

Why We Love This Recipe

  • Only 3 ingredients. It is quick and easy to make with only a few ingredients.
  • Sweet and Salty Combination. It is such a flavor packed treat.

Ingredients

Ingredients for recipe - pretzels, m&m's and rolo candy.
  • Snap Square Pretzels. The square pretzels work best.
  • Rolo candies. Unwrap so they will be ready to use.
  • M&Ms Chocolate Candy. You can use any colors you love.

Find the complete list of ingredients at the bottom of the post.

Variations

  • Use a Hershey Kiss – Substitute a Hershey Kiss for the Rolo. Try some of the other Hershey Kiss flavors such as white chocolate or peppermint.
  • Reese’s Cup– Top the pretzels with a mini Reese’s Cup for the chocolate. Peanut butter fans will love this.
  • Change the Candy – Instead of an M&M, use Reese’s pieces on top or even a chocolate chip.
  • Make them for any holiday – Try seasonal candy and colors to make these color coordinated for special occasions. These are perfect for Christmas, Valentine’s Day, birthday parties, Game Day and more.
  • Use Pecans – Use pecan halves instead of M&M candy and make Rolo Turtles.
  • Try Hershey Hugs – Substitute the Rolo for Hershey hugs. It is delicious as well!

FAQs

How to store?

The leftovers can be stored at room temperature. However, if you live in a humid area than I recommend storing them in the refrigerator.
Also, I suggest placing a layer of wax paper in between the chocolate covered treats. This will prevent them from sticking to each other.

Can you freeze this sweet and salty treat?

Yes, you can freeze these treats easily.
I suggest that you flash-freeze the treats first. You can do this by putting them on a baking sheet or plate in the fridge. Allow them to stay in the fridge for about an hour.

Then put the treats inside an airtight container or bag in the freezer. You can easily grab a couple when the craving strikes.

They shouldn’t stick together since they were flash-frozen first. The treats will last up to 2 to 3 months in the freezer.

Pro Tips

  • Cool completely before serving. This yummy holiday treat needs to be set completely before enjoying it.
  • Line the baking sheet. Prepare the pan with parchment paper to make clean-up easier.
