How to warm up

There is nothing better than a warm chocolate chip cookie. If you prefer to have fresh from the oven chocolate chip cookies, follow these tips.

  • Microwave – Place the chocolate chip cookie on a microwave safe plate and microwave for about 10 seconds.
  • Oven or Air FryerIf you prefer your cookie to have a crispy edges, I recommend placing in the oven or air fryer. Heat the oven or air fryer to about 325 degrees and heat for about 2 minutes.

Pro Tips

  • Room Temperature Ingredients – We recommend starting with softened butter to make this recipe. It blends with the other ingredients so there aren’t any lumps are in the batter.
  • Mixing Ingredients – For best results, use a stand mixer or a hand help mixer to mix the ingredients.
  • Large Scoops – To make these closely resemble Mrs. Fields cookies, scoop about ¼ cup of the dough to form the dough. They need to be the size of a golf ball.
  • Baking Cookies – Bake cooking until golden brown. Make sure to not over cooke the cookies. The cookies will finish cooking while on the baking sheet after removing from the oven.
  • Prepare Baking Sheets – Parchment paper makes clean up easy and helps the cookies to bake evenly without spreading a bunch.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I have to Chill the Dough?

Yes, we recommend chilling the dough. This helps to create a thick texture cookie. It also prevents the cooking from spreading while baking.

How to store?

Store leftover cookies in an airtight container for up to 1 week.  Keep a piece of bread in the container with the cookies to keep them soft and to stay fresh.

Can I Freeze Chocolate Chip Cookies?

These Chocolate Chip Cookies freeze well and there are two options you can choose from. You can freeze the dough which is the method we prefer or freeze cookie after baking.

After forming the dough balls, flash freeze on a baking sheet for 1 to 2 hours. Then freeze in bags or freezer containers until ready to bake.
This method makes it super easy to enjoy fresh baked cookies any day of the week. Just note that frozen cookies will need a few extra minutes to bake.

The other option is to freeze the cookies after they are baked. Place parchment paper in between the layers when freezing. You can use a freezer container or bag and freeze up to 3 months.
Get all the step by step instructions to freeze cookie dough.

Can I add in Mix-ins?

Yes, you can definitely change this recipe to what you have on hand. We used semi-sweet chocolate chips, but you can easily use dark chocolate chips or milk chocolate chips.

Add in sprinkles or nuts to make this cookie recipe your own.
