What is a Twinkie Cake?

It’s a no bake treat that is layered with a few simple ingredients. If you love Twinkies, it’s a must try. The flavors all come together in a baking dish for a delightful dessert.

It is similar to Banana Split Dump Cake Recipe and Punch Bowl Cake but with Twinkies!

Ingredients: 

Ingredients for Twinkie Cake - cool whip, twinkies, cherries, pineapple, nuts, bananas.
  • Twinkies
  • Bananas 
  • Crushed Pineapple
  • Instant Vanilla Pudding Mix
  • Whipped Topping
  • Chopped Walnuts
  • Maraschino Cherries

Variations

  • Omit the nuts. If you do not prefer nuts, you can leave them off.

Step by step instructions

Step 1. Slice the Twinkies in half.

Twinkies cream side up in baking dish.

Step 2. Place the sliced Twinkies in a 9X13 baking pan. They should be cream side up.

Step 3. Next, slice the bananas and put them on top of the Twinkies.

Step 4. Spread the drained pineapple on top of the bananas.

Step 5. Get out a separate bowl. Combine the instant pudding mix and milk. Allow to sit until it thickens.

Step 6. Carefully spread the pudding mixture on top of the pineapple.

Cool whip spread on top.

Step 7. Add the cool whip and spread with a spatula.

Step 8. Sprinkle chopped walnuts on the cake. Cover with plastic wrap and allow to chill in the refrigerator for 3 hours. Right before serving add a cherry to each slice.

Instructions

  • Slice the Twinkies in half lengthwise and place them in a 9X13 baking pan, cream side up.
  • Slice the bananas and place the banana slices in a single layer on top of the Twinkies.
  • Drain the crushed pineapple and spread it out on top of the bananas.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the pudding mix and milk.  Let it sit for a few minutes until the pudding thickens.  Spread it on top of the pineapple.
  • Top with the cool whip and sprinkle the chopped walnuts on top.
  • Cover and refrigerate for 2-3 hours before serving.
  • When serving, top each cake slice with a cherry and enjoy!
