Why We Love This Recipe

We love making holiday treats especially ones that are no bake. These cookies take less than 30 minutes to prepare and make the perfect addition to your Thanksgiving table.

We have even placed them as centerpieces on our holiday table. You only need 4 ingredients to make this dessert which makes them budget friendly.

Ingredients

  • Fudge Stripes Cookies. These are the perfect size and already coated in chocolate.
  • Miniature Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups. Go ahead and unwrap them.
  • Pieces of Candy Corn. You will need the orange piece of the candy corn.
  • Yellow Decorating Icing. These store-bought tubes of icing make it easy to make the rim on the hat.

Recipe Variations

  • Change the Candy – Substitute the candy corn to Peanut Butter chips as well. 
  • Cookie – The Fudge Strip Cookie makes the perfect bottom Thanksgiving treat. But any flat cookie will work with this recipe.
  • Frosting – Have fun with the icing and use different colors. You can use frosting and dye yellow with food coloring or make your own. Orange frosting would also work for this cookies.
  • Decorating the Hats – Feel free to decorate the Pilgrim Hats in many different ways. Add sprinkles to the top or mini chocolate chips.

Step 1 – Place fudge stripe cookies upside down so that the chocolate part is facing up.

Step 2 – Use the pre-made frosting, place a circle around the center of the cookie.

Step 3 – Next, press the peanut butter cups upside down onto the middle of the icing.

Step 4 – Allow the icing to seep out of the sides of the peanut butter cups. This gives them the appearance of a hat brim.

Step 5 – Cut off the orange portion of each candy corn. Then place them on the center of the rim to create the buckle on the hat.

Pro Tips

  • Icing – We like using decorated icing to easily add to the cookie. But if you are using frosting, place it in a frosting bag to add to the cookie. You can also use a zip lock bag.
  • Decorating – Have fun with kids and make these Easy Thanksgiving Dessert.
  • Work Surface – To easily decorate the cookie, place the fudge stripe cookie on a flat work surface.
  • Allow to rest – We recommend allowing the frosting to set before serving.
  • Make in advance – You can freeze the cookies. Store them in an airtight freezer container and place in the freezer. They will last about 3 months if stored properly.

Storage

Place the cookies in an airtight container at room temperature separated with parchment paper. They will last about a week. The perfect cookie to make ahead of time.
