How to make snickers ice cream cake

Ice cream sandwiches layered in pan.

Step 1. Get out a baking dish and place 12 ice cream sandwiches in the bottom. If you allow them to soften slightly, it is easier to shape into the pan.

Hot fudge spread on top.

Step 2. Warm the sauces. Microwave the hot fudge sauce and caramel topping for approximately 20-30 second so that they are easy to pour. Spread the hot fudge mixture.

Spead caramel sauce on top.

Step 3. Next, spread the caramel topping and half of the peanuts and chopped Snickers on top.

Step 4. Add the remaining ice cream sandwiches on top. Don’t press down and just gently place them on top.

Step 5. Top with hot fudge and spread evenly over the ice cream layer. Gently spread this so every inch is covered.

Whipped cream layered on top.

Step 6. Spread the remaining cool whip on top.

Step 7. Drizzle the remaining caramel sauce and hot fudge sauce on top.

Step 8. Sprinkle with the remaining peanuts and chopped Snickers. Finally, freeze the cake for at least 3 hours and then the cake is ready to serve and enjoy! If you freeze it overnight, allow to soften slightly before serving. It will be easier to slice and serve.

Recipe tips

  • Ice Cream Sandwiches. There are so many different flavor variations of ice cream sandwiches instead of vanilla ice cream. Try using Oreo, chocolate or any type you love.
  • Candy bars. Transform this into other tasty flavors by using other types of candy. Butterfinger, Heath bars, M&M’s and Baby Ruth make great choices.
  • Peanuts. You can try using unsalted or honey roasted peanuts for a different flavor.
  • Peanut Butter. If you love the combination of chocolate and peanut butter, try adding swirls of peanut butter into the layers or using peanut butter ice cream.
  • Springform pan. Instead of using a 9×13 cake pan, make this cake in a springform pan for a different style.
  • Chocolate Sauce and Caramel Sauce. Use your favorite brand of these sauces or you can easily make homemade Hot Fudge and homemade Caramel Sauce.
  • Whipped Cream. You can use whipped topping at the grocery store or make homemade whipped cream. Either option is fine.
  • Allow the ice cream sandwiches to soften slightly. I like to allow the ice cream sandwiches to soften just a little bit before using. It makes them easier to fit into the pan for each layer.
  • Deep Baking Dish. Don’t use a shallow 9×13 pan as you need plenty of room for the layers. You don’t want to smash the layers down.
  • Make in advance. The cake should be made at least 3 hours in advance so it has time to firm up.
