Why We Love This Recipe
This recipe is loaded with fresh fruit and tastes wonderful. Store bought popsicles are full of high fructose corn syrup and rarely contain actual fruit. It’s also a budget saver family favorite.

- Fresh mangos are best. You can also use frozen in a pinch.
- Lime. Fresh lime juice is recommended.
- Cherries. Fresh are preferred in this recipe but you can use frozen if you prefer. Make sure they are pitted.

How to make Cherry mango Popsicles
- Step 1. Blend each layer. If you plan to make layered color popsicles, you will need to blend each fruit separately. This is optional but the layers look really pretty like this.
Step 2. Combine the mangos. First, add the mango chunks, and half the lime juice and sugar to the blender or food processor.
Step 3. Then, blend on high until smooth.
Step 4. Once blended, pour the mango fruit juice mixture into the popsicle molds. Only fill them about halfway.
Step 5. Combine the cherries with the lime juice that is remaining and sugar in the blender. Then, pour this cherry mixture on top of the frozen mango mixture in the popsicle moulds.
Step 6. Place the popsicle sticks in the molds. Put in the freezer for at least 4 hours or overnight. I prefer to leave them overnight.
Step 7. Remove from the molds and enjoy.
Expert Tips
- To make single color popsicles: Simply blend all of the ingredients together in the blender to make a single color popsicle. This is another option when you are short on time.
- You can make these without added sugar. If you are concerned with adding sugar, omit and make as normal. They will be tart but still yummy.
- Guar gum can be used to help stabilize frozen treats if needed. You can use ½ teaspoon for 12 ounces of popsicle mixture or about 6 molds.
- Citric Acid will give the popsicles extra tartness. Just add a pinch to the mixture depending on how tart you like it.
FAQs
These homemade frozen treats will last up to 3 months in the freezer.
You can store them in the molds. Another option is to take them out of the mold and place in a freezer bag.
This is the method I prefer so that it is easier for the kids to grab and go. Otherwise, each time someone wants one, they have to take out of the mold.
Run warm water over the mold to loosen the popsicles. Be careful that you do not do this too long.
You also do not want to use hot water. This will result in melted popsicles and make it even harder to remove from the mold.
