Storage
You can store this popcorn in a bag or airtight container at room temperature for up to one week before it will start to go stale.
Sometimes we hand this out as gifts and like to use small cellophane bags tied with ribbon. It will stay fresh as long as you secure the bag tightly.
How long will cinnamon roll popcorn last?
Stored properly, this popcorn can last up to a week. Ours never lasts that long though. We eat it pretty fast because it is amazing.
Expert Tips
- You can use either light or dark brown sugar in this recipe. I have tried using both and it does not make a noticeable difference in the taste of the popcorn.
- If you do not have popcorn kernels, you can use microwave popcorn instead. You will need two bags for this recipe.
- In addition to vegetable oil, you can also use avocado oil and canola oil. However, you will want to stay away from low heat oils like coconut oil. It will just cause the kernels to burn before they have a chance to pop.
- Spread out even layer of parchment paper or wax paper on a baking pan to allow the popcorn to set. This will also help make clean up a breeze for the baking sheets. You can also use foil-lined jelly
- Pick out any un popped kernels before using in this recipe. You don’t want any hard pieces underneath the coating that could hurt your teeth.
