Ingredients for Easter Bunny Cinnamon Rolls

Ingredients:

  • Pillsbury Grands Refrigerated Cinnamon Rolls
  • Pastel Sprinkles
  • Pastel M&Ms

How to make cinnamon roll bunnies:

  • Step 1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Spread the cinnamon rolls out onto a large baking sheet.
  • Step 2. Form the bunny ears. Use your hands to gently uncool the outer end of the cinnamon roll.  Then use that piece of the cinnamon roll to form 2 bunny ears above the remaining roll.
  • Step 3. Secure to the bunny portion of the roll. Press down between the ears and on the outside of the ears to secure them to the round portion of the cinnamon roll.  Spread them out on the baking sheet and make sure that they resemble a bunny before baking.
  • Step 4. Bake them based on the package instructions.  Watch them as they bake and re-pinch the edges together if they start to spread apart while baking.
  • Step 5. Allow to cool. Remove them from the oven and let them cool slightly.
  • Step 6. Top with icing. Drizzle the icing that came with the cinnamon roll on top and then top with the sprinkles.  Use the M&Ms to form the eyes and nose on each bunny to make a face.
  • Step 7. Serve and enjoy. They are ready to serve and enjoy!

Variation ideas

  • Candy. You can use jelly beans instead of M&Ms in this cinnamon roll recipe if you prefer.
  • Chocolate Chips. If you like chocolate, try using chocolate chips for the eyes and nose.
  • Cinnamon Roll Dough. Any canned refrigerated brand will work great in this recipe! Feel free to use store brand or your favorite brand.
  • Different flavors. While traditional variations taste amazing, orange flavor and caramel taste great too.
  • Frosting. If you want more frosting than what is included, you can purchase a container of cream cheese frosting.
  • Sprinkles. You can use any sprinkles that you prefer or have on hand.

Tips for bunny cinnamon rolls

  • Lined baking sheet. Clean up is a breeze if you line the baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Don’t overbake. They should be golden brown around the edges but not overdone. Baking times vary to keep an eye on them.
  • Reinforce the shape. While baking, it might be necessary to reinforce the shape of the bunnies. Check on them during the process and if needed adjust the shape with a handle of a spoon.
  • Regular size. The Grands size is yummy but the regular size works better when making these bunnies. The larger size is harder to hold the bunny shape while baking.
