- Biscoff Spread. This can be substituted for cookie butter for another great treat. We normally purchase this at Trader Joe’s.
- Chocolate Chips. Toss in a handful of chocolate chips for a yummy chocolate treat.
- Chocolate. Substitute semi sweet chocolate, milk chocolate or dark chocolate for the white chocolate.
- Candy. For a hint of color add a handful of M&M’s to the mixture. You can use seasonal varieties to make this extra special year-round. It is great for birthday parties and holidays.
How to Make Cookie Butter Popcorn
- Step 1. Prepare the baking sheet. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or wax paper.

Step 2. Place the melting white chocolate and cookie butter in a microwave safe bowl.

Step 3. Heat in 30 second intervals, stirring after each interval, until the chocolate is melted and combined with the cookie butter.

Step 4. The candy melts mixture should be completely smooth.

Step 5. Pour the popped popcorn into a large mixing bowl. Then pour the chocolate mixture on top and carefully stir the popcorn to coat. Then spread the popcorn onto a large baking sheet in an even layer. Let the popcorn harden. Then break the popcorn into pieces.
Storage
Store the leftover popcorn in an airtight container or bag at room temperature for up to 3 days. The popcorn will last up to 3 days if stored properly.
Pro Tips
- Combine thoroughly. Use a rubber spatula to mix together the melted chocolate and cookie butter.
- Melt in increments. You don’t want to burn the chocolate mixture. Place in the microwave in 30 second intervals. Stir in between each and continue until melted.
- Allow to harden. The mixture needs to completely harden on the popcorn before breaking into pieces or storing.
- Make sure all of the popcorn is coated. It’s important to place the popcorn in very large bowl to coat. This will give you plenty of room to stir the popcorn until completely coated.
- Use plain popcorn. Don’t use extra butter or anything like that. It will alter the flavor.
- Remove unpopped kernels. Before adding the melted mixture, remove any unpopped kernels from the popcorn.
