- Red Candy. If you can’t find red heart sprinkles, you can use red hot candy, red M&M’s or just plain red sprinkles.

How to Make Grinch Rice Krispie Treats:
- Step 1 – Spray a 9X13 pan or baking sheet with a non-stick cooking spray. Set aside the prepared pan.

Step 2. Place the butter and marshmallow in a large saucepan and melt butter over medium heat to medium-low heat stirring frequently. You do not need to use a double boiler.

Step 3. Once the ingredients are melted and combined, remove from heat. Add in the green gel food coloring until the mixture is a vibrant green coloring.

Step 4. Gradually stir in the Rice Krispie Cereal. Mix until the cereal is coated in the marshmallow and butter mixture.

Step 5. Press the mixture into the 9X13 inch baking pan into an even layer. I spray a piece of parchment paper with non-stick spray and use that parchment paper to press the cereal down into the baking dish.

Step 6. Top the Rice Krispie treats with the red heart shaped sprinkles. Make sure to add them throughout the pan so that each treat will have a red heart sprinkle on it.

Step 7. Let the Rice Krispie treats sit at room temperature for 1 hour and then they are ready to slice.
Pro Tips
- Storing – I do not recommend cooling or storing the Rice Krispie treats in the refrigerator as it will cause them to dry out.
- Food Coloring – Adjust the green food coloring to the mixture for your desired shade of green.
- Wax Paper – You can also use wax paper to press the mixture in the pan.
- Melt the marshmallows in the microwave. Instead of the stove top, you can use a microwave-safe bowl.

Frequently Asked Questions
Store any leftover Rice Krispie treats in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 1 week.
They are easiest to cut when taken entirely out of the pan. Place the entire sheet of rice krispies on a cutting board.
Then use a really sharp knife to cut them into individual slices. It is also helpful to spray the knife with non stick cooking spray. Make sure to wipe it clean to ensure there isn’t any build up.
