Variations Ideas:
- Chocolate Chips – Feel free to change the chocolate chips. You can make this with Milk Chocolate Chips, White chocolate chips or Dark Chocolate Chips.
- Add Nuts – Nuts are really good in fudge. Add in chopped pecans or walnuts to the fudge mixture.
- Peanut Butter – Chocolate and peanut butter is my favorite combination. Add a cup of peanut butter to the chocolate and sweetened condensed milk mixture once melted. Stir until everything is well combined to make peanut butter fudge.
- Peppermint Extract – For peppermint fudge, add in a teaspoon of peppermint extract.
How to Make Chocolate Fudge:

Step 1. Prepare the pan by lining it with parchment paper. It should cover the sides of the baking pan. This will make it easier to lift out of the pan later.

Step 2. Melt the chocolate chips in a large microwave safe bowl. Add the sweetened condensed milk and microwave for one minute.

Step 3. Combine the ingredients as this will help the heat to melt the chocolate chips. I prefer to use a wooden spoon.

Step 4. You can place in the microwave for another 30 minutes if it’s still not melted enough. Finally, add the vanilla extract and stir.

Step 5. Quickly transfer the chocolate mixture into the prepared pan.

Step 6. Spread this mixture evenly. Put the pan in the fridge until firm for about 2 to 3 hours.

Step 7. Lift the fudge out of the pan.

Step 8. Cut into squares while it is still cold. I suggest doing this as soon as you take it out of the fridge.

- Freezing Fudge – Make extra to freeze covered in aluminum foil. Just make sure to store the fudge inside an airtight container or freezer bag. I also like to put parchment paper between the fudge to prevent sticking. This will keep up to 3 months if stored properly.
- Melting Chocolate – Slowly melt the chocolate in the microwave so that it does not burn. You can also heat in a saucepan over medium heat.
- Chill Fudge – Make sure to give time for fudge to firm up in the refrigerator. This is a great dessert to prepare ahead of time.
