Variations
- Whipped Cream. You can top the pie with homemade whipped cream instead of the cool whip if you prefer.
- Store bought crust. You can save time and buy the crust instead of making it.
- Graham Cracker Crust. Instead of a Oreo crust, try using a graham cracker crust.
Step By Step Instructions

Step 1. Get out a food processor and place the Oreo Cookies inside. Finely crush the cookies. Then move the cookie crumbs to a medium size bowl and add the melted butter.

Step 2. Press into a pie plate. Make sure to get the mixture on the bottom and the sides of the pan. Place in the fridge for at least 30-60 minutes.

Step 3. Beat the cream cheese in a large mixing bowl with a hand held mixer. It normally takes 2-3 minutes before it becomes light and fluffy.

Step 4. Once the cream cheese is fluffy, add in the Nutella. Mix until well combined.

Step 5. Add the whipped cream and gently fold into the mixture. Be careful not to over-mix or the whipped topping might lose its texture.

Step 6. Spread the mixture into the pie crust. Then chill for at least 4 hours but overnight is preferred. Garnish with chocolate shaving and whipped cream topping before serving.
Topping Ideas
- Chopped Hazelnuts
- Chocolate sauce
- Whipped Cream. I love Homemade Whipped Cream.
- Peanut Butter sauce.
- Chocolate chunks or curls
Pro Tips
- Use room temperature cream cheese – Make sure the cream cheese is softened before mixing. This prevents lumps and ensures a silky, smooth filling. Using an electric mixer can make blending even easier.
- Make ahead – This pie tastes even better when made in advance. Prepare it the day before and refrigerate to save time and let the flavors meld.
- Gently press the crust – Use the bottom of a cup or measuring cup to firmly press the crust down for a smooth, even base.
- Let melted butter cool – Allow the butter to cool slightly before combining it with crushed Oreos. This helps maintain the right texture for the crust.
