  • Make Homemade Crust – You could also make a homemade graham cracker crust if you prefer. You will need a food processor to make your own crust.
  • Sugar Free Jello – If you prefer, you can use sugar free jello. The pie will still turn out so delicious.

Expert Tips

  • Fresh Strawberries – For this recipe, we recommend using fresh berries for the topping. Frozen strawberries can release to much moisture and could make your pie soggy.
  • Refrigerate Filling – Make sure to refrigerate filling before adding to the graham cracker crust.
  • Let Pie set – Once the pie filling has been added to the pie crust, make sure to let the pie set. We recommend at least 4 hours, or you can let it set overnight.

FAQs

What if I have extra Pie Filling?

Occasionally we will end up with more extra pie filling. If this happens to you, simply place in a bowl and place in the refrigerator. Let this pie filling set for a few hours. Then you can enjoy it by the spoonful, or use it to dip your graham crackers in it.

How much Ice for the Ice-Cold Water?

We recommend doing about half of a cup of ice cubes with the 1 cup of water. You can also fill a ½ measuring cup of ice then pour into water until it reaches 1 cup of water.

Can I freeze this Jell-O Pie?

We do not recommend freezing this Strawberry Jell-O Pie. We have found that Jell-O desserts do not freeze well.

Can this Jell-O Pie be made in advance?

Yes, this is the perfect pie to make in advance. Prepare pie as indicated and then place in the refrigerator covered until ready to serve. Strawberry Jell-o Pie will last about 3 days in the refrigerator.

We recommend waiting to garnish pie until you are ready to serve.
