What type of Peanut Butter Should I use?

For this frosting we recommend using the traditional creamy peanut butter that you buy at the store. Stick with the creamy peanut butter and do not use the crunchy kind. I prefer skippy or jif.

We also do not recommend using any other type of nut butters or the natural and organic peanut butter. This could result in your peanut butter frosting being grainy or a rough texture.

Step 1 – In a medium mixing bowl, cream together butter and peanut butter until smooth and fluffy. You can also mix in vanilla. Milk and vanilla is amazing combination. You can use a stand mixer or hand mixer.

Does the Frosting need to be Refrigerated?

This delicious frosting can be stored at room temperature for 2 to 3 days. Place in an air tight jar for easily frosting cake or cupcakes for the next several days.

You can also place in the fridge and it will last about a week. When you are ready to use again, let it thaw to room temperature and stir to make it fluffy again.

How many Cupcakes or Cake will this Peanut Butter Cover?


This frosting will cover about 20-24 cupcakes depending on how much frosting you use. We recommend using a piping bag to even coat the cupcakes and make sure you have enough peanut butter buttercream frosting.

      Yes it can. I would keep in the fridge until ready to use. You might need allow it to warm slightly and rewhip it before using.
