How to Make Toll House Chocolate Chip Cookies
- Step 1 – Preheat oven. Set the oven to 375 degrees F.

Step 2. Cream the butter and brown sugar using a large mixing bowl.

Step 3. Continue to mix until they are light and fluffy. We used a stand mixer to beat butter granulated sugar but a hand mixer is fine too.

Step 4. Now, add the eggs one at a time. Make sure to beat after each addition. Combine with the sugar and vanilla extract. Gradually beat well after each addition to prepare the dough.

Step 5. Combine the dry ingredients together.

Step 6. Combine the wet and dry ingredients together. Make sure to mix until this is just combined. Do not over mix and only gradually beat in flour.

Step 7. Gently stir in the semi-sweet chocolate morsels and chopped walnuts. Fold these in by hand.

Step 8. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Scoop the dough to form the cookies.

- ½ tsp Baking Powder
- 2 cups Semi-sweet Chocolate Chips
- 1 cup chopped Walnuts optional
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.
- In a large bowl, beat together the butter and sugars until light and fluffy with a stand up mixer or hand held mixer.
- Then mix in the eggs and vanilla extract.
- In a separate bowl, stir together the flour, baking soda and baking powder.
- Then gradually add the flour mixture to the butter mixture. Mix on a low speed and mix until just combined. Be careful not to over mix.
- Then gently stir in the chocolate chips and chopped walnuts.
- Place tablespoons of the dough onto a baking sheet using a cookie scoop.
- Then bake for 10-12 minutes until the cookies are slightly golden brown around the edges.
- Let the cookies set on the baking sheet for 5 minutes and then move the cookies to a wire rack to cool completely.
