FAQs

Can you use other fruits?

Yes, this recipe is versatile and easy to adapt with other fruits. We love to make peach cobbler when peaches are in season.

Blueberries also taste great alone, or you can combine them with other berries to make a cobbler.

Can you use frozen berries?

Fresh or frozen berries can be used in this cobbler recipe. If using frozen berries, do not thaw and bake as normal.

Frozen berries tend to provide more liquid and make the cobbler juicier.

How to store?

Store the leftovers in an airtight container for up to 5 days

Can you freeze cobbler?

Yes, you can but the topping will likely become soggy once reheated. Make sure to allow the cobbler to completely cool before freezing and wrap tightly in plastic wrap.

Allow to thaw in the fridge overnight. Reheat in the oven or microwave until heated through.

We do not suggest making this in advance and freezing. The crust will not rise as normal, and the texture will not be the same. However, you can prepare the filling and freeze to use later.

Expert Tips

  • Individual Cobblers. You can bake this in individual ramekins and bake as normal. Just fill each container with berry filling and add the crust topping. This would be a fun way to serve the cobbler if you want individual servings.
  • Cornstarch. This ingredient is added to the berry mixture to thicken the filling. Don’t skip it.
  • Fresh lemon juice. The flavor is best when using fresh lemon juice.
  • Vanilla Extract. Use pure vanilla extract for the best flavor.
