What is a cobbler?
A cobbler has a fruit filling and topping. It does not have a bottom crust like a pie does.
The fruit has various spices such as cinnamon, nutmeg, and more mixed together. Biscuit like topping makes this so delicious.
Ingredients

Filling
- Large Baking Apples (peeled, cored and cut into ¼ inch slices)

How to make Apple Cobbler
- Step 1. Preheat the oven and prepare the dish. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Spray a 9X13 baking dish with non-stick cooking spray.

Step 2. Mix the filling together. Add the filling ingredients into a large bowl. Toss to thoroughly combine all the ingredients.

Step 3. Then pour the sliced apples mixture into the baking dish.

Step 4. Combine the topping ingredients. Mix together the flour, sugar, baking powder and salt together in a mixing bowl.

Step 5. Stir in the milk and melted butter until just combined. Do not over mix.

Step 6. Sprinkle the topping over the filling in the dish.

Step 7. Bake for 40-45 minutes until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Allow the cobbler to sit for 15-20 minutes and then serve topped with ice cream.

Storage
Refrigerate the leftovers in an airtight container for up to 5 days. You can also leave the cobbler in its original dish. Just be sure to cover it entirely so it is airtight in the refrigerator.
When ready to serve, reheat in the microwave until warmed through. You can also heat in the oven if you want to reheat the entire portion.
We do not suggest freezing this cobbler. The entire dessert with get soggy and gooey as the texture changes. It will turn mushy and not be as appetizing.
It is a quick and easy recipe so it’s best to just whip this up fresh.

- Apple Slices. Cut the apples all the same size. They will cook more evenly. Don’t cut the apples too thick in this recipe.
- Batter. Only combine the batter until just mixed together. Don’t overmix the ingredients.
- Use multiple types of apples. You can mix and match different variations of apples. We like to use a tart apple combined with a sweeter apple for a really fabulous taste when baking.
- Adjust the seasoning. If you prefer more cinnamon, feel free to add more. It is easy to adjust this to taste.
