Variations and Additions
- Mini Loaves – Instead of one full-sized loaf, bake the batter in mini loaf pans for individual servings. Perfect for gifting or portion control.
- Mix-Ins – Stir in about ½ cup of extras like chopped walnuts, pecans, or even chocolate chips for added texture and flavor.
- Vanilla – Add a teaspoon of pure vanilla extract for extra warmth and depth of flavor.
- Whole Wheat Flour – Replace some or all of the all-purpose flour with whole wheat flour for a heartier, more wholesome loaf.
- Oil Substitute – Use vegetable oil, canola oil, or coconut oil in place of butter for a slightly different flavor and moist texture.
- Spice It Up – Try adding ground cloves, allspice, or even pumpkin pie spice to give the bread a seasonal twist.

Pro Tips
- Don’t Overmix the Batter – Gently mix the ingredients until just combined. Overmixing can make the bread dense or tough instead of light and moist.
- Cover if Browning Too Quickly – If the top of the bread is getting too dark before the center has finished baking, loosely tent the pan with foil to prevent burning.
- Use Room Temperature Ingredients – Butter, eggs, and yogurt blend more smoothly into the batter when at room temperature, helping the bread bake evenly.
- Test for Doneness – Insert a toothpick into the center of the loaf. If it comes out clean or with just a few crumbs, the bread is ready.
- Cool Before Slicing – Let the bread cool in the pan for about 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack. Cutting too soon may cause it to crumble.
- Grease and Line the Pan – For easy removal, lightly grease your pan and consider lining it with parchment paper.
