How to Make Football Chocolate Covered Pretzel Rods

  • Step 1 – Melt the semi-sweet chocolate chips in a tall glass.
  • Step 2 – Heat them in the microwave in 30 second increments, stirring in between, until they are completely melted.

Step 3 – Dip the pretzel rods into the melted chocolate one at a time. Remove excess chocolate from rods before placing on baking sheet.

Step 4 – Place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or wax paper.  Make sure that they do not touch each other.

Step 5. Let them all cool completely at room temperature.

Step 6. Melt the white chocolate chips in a microwave safe bowl in 30 second intervals. Put the melted chocolate in a ziplock bag with the end cut off or a piping bag.  Pipe the white chocolate onto the pretzel rods to make the laces on the football.  

  • Step 7 – Allow them to cool completely (1 hour at room temperature or 30 minutes in the refrigerator).
  • Step 8 – Then they are ready to serve and enjoy.
