This recipe makes it so easy to enjoy all the flavor of classic s’mores around a campfire. It’s so simple with just 2 ingredients and delicious with dippers. We love the toasty marshmallows and gooey chocolate.
Ingredients
- Milk Chocolate Chips. I recommend Guittard or Ghirardelli. Nestle does not melt as well.

Substitutions and Additions
- Chocolate Chips – Add in different chocolate chips. Dark chocolate chips, peanut butter chocolate chips or peanut butter cups are always a great option.
- Nuts – Top the chocolate chips with chopped nuts and then melt in the oven.
- Drizzle chocolate on top – Before serving the dip, drizzle caramel syrup or chocolate syrup over the top.
- Chocolate Bars – Instead of using chocolate chips, feel free to melt chocolate bars instead. We recommend using high quality chocolate for the best dip.
- Marshmallows – We like to use the larger marshmallows, but mini marshmallows will work. You just want to make sure the chocolate is covered.
How to Make S’mores Dip
- Step 1 – First, go ahead and preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
Step 2. Next, pour the chocolate chips into an 8-inch cast iron skillet or 9 inch oven safe skillet. Bake for a few minutes or until chocolate is melted.
Step 3. Arrange the marshmallows over the top of the chocolate chips.
Step 4. Bake for 2-3 minutes or until marshmallows are golden brown. We like the top to have toasted marshmallows.
Step 5. Serve immediately with graham crackers, cookies and fruit for dipping.

We like to use good quality chocolate when we make this dip. We recommend using Ghirardelli chocolate bar but really any kind will work. You can easily use milk chocolate or dark chocolate.
Sure! Just place the ingredients in a microwave safe dish and cook in the microwave. Smores dip recipe oven is best but it works heats well in the microwave.
Yes! If you do not have a cast iron skillet or just prefer to use something else, that is fine. A glass pan or baking dish will work just fine to make this dip.
Store leftovers in the refrigerator for only a few days. Serve this dip immediately after preparing for best results.
You can reheat the leftover by placing back in the skillet in a preheated oven at 350 degrees. Reheat the leftovers for about 5 minutes or until the chocolate is melted and the marshmallows are warm.
