How to Make Snickers Ice Cream

Bag of candy bars ready to be chopped.

Step 1. Crush the candy bars. Unwrap the snicker candy bars and place them in a large ziplock bag. Then use a wooden spoon to crush the candy into small pieces.

Sweetened condensed milk and vanilla combined together.

Step 2. Combine the sweetened condensed milk and vanilla extract in a large bowl.

Mixing bowl with whipped cream beat until stiff peaks.

Step 3. Get out a separate bowl and add the heavy whipping cream. Mix for 2 to 3 minutes using a hand mixer until it holds stiff peaks.

Whipped cream folded into milk mixture.

Step 4. Fold the whipped cream into the milk mixture. Don’t overmix and don’t use an electric mixer.

Candy folded into mixture.

Step 5. Carefully fold in the crushed snickers bars and part of the caramel sauce.

Ice cream mixture spread into pan.

Step 6. Evenly spread the mixture into a loaf pan.  Then drizzle the top of the mixture with the remaining caramel sauce.  Sprinkle the remaining snickers and the chopped peanuts on top. Cover the pan with foil and freeze for at least 6 hours. I like to freeze overnight. Then scoop and serve.

Storage

You can freeze the ice cream in a loaf pan. Just make sure to cover it tightly with plastic wrap.

We also suggest placing a layer of parchment paper directly on the ice cream. This will help to prevent ice crystals from forming.

How Long Will Homemade Ice Cream Last?

Pro Tips

  • Caramel Sauce. You can use store bought or homemade caramel sauce for this recipe.
  • Snickers Peanut Butter. For a fun flavor twist, substitute snickers peanut butter candy bars in the ice cream. This will give it a creamy peanut butter ice cream twist.
  • Toppings. It is optional but feel free to add additional toppings when serving. We love to drizzle caramel sauce and chocolate sauce on top. Sometimes, we also add additional chopped peanuts.
  • Carefully Combine. Don’t overmix the ingredients. Overbeating the cream will change the light and fluffy texture.
