Variations Ideas

  • Berries. You can use any type of berries in this recipe. We also like blackberries, peaches and blueberries.
  • Frozen strawberries. Either frozen or fresh strawberries can be used in this recipe.
  • Nuts. Chopped nuts make a great combination with the cobbler ingredients. Try adding pecans or walnuts to the mixture.

This cobbler is very easy to adapt based on your preference. It is so easy and not difficult at all.

How to Make Strawberry Cobbler

  • Step 1. Preheat the oven. Set the oven to 350 degrees F.
  • Step 2. Prepare the dish. Spray an 8X11 baking dish (I used a corning ware dish) with a non-stick cooking spray.

Step 3. Combine the strawberries. Add the strawberries and combine the mixture gently together in a medium sized mixing bowl.  Fold the strawberries gently into the mixture.

Combine dry ingredients and then mix in milk and vanilla extract

Step 4. Mix the dry ingredients. In a separate bowl, stir together the flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, milk and vanilla extract.  Then slowly mix in the melted butter.  Be careful not to over mix.  A few lumps are fine.

Pour batter into baking dish

Step 5 – Spread the batter. Pour the batter into the baking dish in an even layer.

Top batter with strawberry mixture

Step 6 – Spoon the strawberry mixture on top of the batter.  Do not stir the strawberries into the batter.

  • Step 7. Bake the cobbler. Bake for 35-40 minutes until the cobbler is golden brown.  Be careful that you do not overbake the cobbler.
  • Step 8. Serve and enjoy. It is best served warm. We love to top it with ice cream or whipped topping.  Now, enjoy this tasty dessert.

Recipe Tips

  • Don’t overmix the batter. It is ok if it still has a few lumps in the batter.
  • Baking dish. We used a casserole type dish to make the cobbler but you can also use a cast iron skillet.
  • Don’t overbake. The cobbler will become dry if you bake the cobbler too long. Oven times vary so make sure to keep an eye on the cobbler during the baking time.

Serving Suggestions

We love to enjoy the cobbler warm.

  • Vanilla Ice Cream. It is so delicious topped with a scoop of No Churn Vanilla Ice Cream.
  • Whipped Cream. Warm cobbler is delicious with whipped cream on top.

Either option is so tasty. If you are feeling decadent, you can even top the cobbler with both of these.
