Why We Love This Recipe

  • Each frozen treat is a good source of protein.
  • They are healthy but delicious for the best summer treats.
  • The recipe is budget-friendly and simple to make.

Ingredients

Ingredients for Strawberry yogurt popsicles - Greek Yogurt, strawberries, honey.
  • Plain Greek Yogurt. Greek yogurt adds protein.
  • Strawberries. We used fresh but you can use frozen strawberries.
  • Honey. This adds the perfect amount of sweetness.

Variations and Substitutions

  • Fruit. Instead of fresh strawberries, try other types of fruit. We also like raspberries, blueberries, mangoes and bananas.
  • Yogurt. Substitute flavored yogurt for plain Greek Yogurt. Lemon, Vanilla, or Cheesecake yogurt pair well with fruit. For even more strawberry flavor, use strawberry yogurt with fresh or frozen strawberries.
  • Ice Cream. Instead of yogurt, use vanilla ice cream. The strawberry popsicles will not be as healthy but it is a nice option for a special treat.
  • Leave out the yogurt. If you like a fruitier taste versus the creaminess, just omit the yogurt.
  • Frozen fruit. If strawberries are not in season, use frozen instead of fresh.
  • Lemon Juice. Add ¾ teaspoon lemon juice for a tangy Strawberry Lemonade flavor.

How to make Strawberry Yogurt Popsicles

Popsicle mold on the counter.

Step 1. Get out a popsicle mold. Add all the ingredients to a blender and blend until smooth.  Stir the yogurt mixture to make sure there aren’t any lumps. You can also use a food processor to puree the sliced strawberries and other ingredients.

Step 2. Once combined, pour the strawberry puree mixture evenly into the popsicle molds. Insert the popsicle sticks.  Freeze for 4-6 hours or overnight. You want the popsicles to be fully frozen.

Frequently Asked Questions

How to remove?

When you are ready to serve, run the molds under warm water to loosen the popsicles from the molds. Be careful not to use hot water so you don’t melt the popsicles.

How long will homemade popsicles last?

These homemade popsicles will last for 6 weeks in the freezer.

How to store?

You can leave them in the molds if you prefer.

However, if you are concerned with it being difficult for kids to remove, place the yogurt pops in storage bags. This will make it more convenient to grab one for a snack.

I like to put them in a freezer container with wax paper in between the popsicles. This will help prevent them from sticking.

Pro Tips

  • Molds. If you do not have popsicle molds, use ice cube trays or small paper cups.
  • Non Dairy. If you need to make a non-dairy option, use dairy free yogurt in this recipe. We like the Silk Almond Yogurt Brand but use what you prefer.
  • Sweetener. You can experiment with different types of sweeteners to suit your needs. Try using maple syrup, agave, or anything you prefer.
  • Freeze overnight. The popsicles need to be frozen at least 4 to 6 hours. However, overnight is best to ensure they are fully frozen.
  • Carefully remove from molds. I don’t recommend using hot water because it is too easy to melt the popsicles. Use warm water and only run the molds under it for a few seconds.
