Serving suggestions

This dessert is fabulous enjoyed plain. However, you can take it to the next level by serving it with vanilla ice cream. I also like to drizzle it with Homemade Caramel Sauce Recipe.

It is so yummy served warm and the ice cream melts into each bite. The caramel sauce brings it all together for such a wonderful treat.

Storage

Refrigerate the leftovers in an airtight container for up to 4-5 days.

Pro Tips

  • Apple Pie Spice. I use homemade apple pie spice and it saves so much money.
  • Chop the pie filling into small pieces. Since the Apple Pie Bombs are small, you do not want large chunks of apples. Cut the pie filling into small bite size pieces.
  • Dip into cinnamon mixture right away. While the Apple Pie bombs are hot, dip into the cinnamon mixture so it sticks.

Frequently Asked Questions

What are Air Fryer Apple Pie Bombs?

They are delicious bite sized desserts made with biscuit dough. Each one is loaded with apple pie filing and air fried until perfectly golden brown.

The bites are topped in cinnamon and sugar for a tasty treat.

Can I use different types of pie filling?

Yes, you can use any type of pie filling you love. This recipe can easily be adapted into numerous types of pie bombs. Try using blueberry, strawberry, peach and more.

Can I bake Apple Pie Bombs in the oven?

Yes, this recipe can easily be made in the oven if you do not have an air fryer. Make the recipe as normal and place on a lined baking sheet.

Bake for 15 minutes in a 375 degree oven until cooked through and golden brown. We do recommend lining the baking sheet to make clean up easier.

How to freeze?

Allow the apple pie bombs to cool. They should be room temperature.
Place on a baking sheet and freeze. Once frozen, transfer to a freezer bag or container up to 3 months.

I suggest writing on the container the contents and date.
When ready to serve, cook as directed. You will need to add a few extra minutes to the cooking time if frozen.
