Why We Love This Recipe

This dip has all the flavors perfect for a Fall treat but we love to enjoy this year-round. Each bite is smooth and creamy and so tasty.

It doesn’t take long to make and turns out great every time. From fall gatherings to movie night, this sweet dip is always a hit with your favorite dippers.

Ingredients

Dip

  • Cream Cheese. Softened at room temperature.
  • Apple Pie Filling. I used store bought to make it easy.
  • Caramel Sauce. Try Homemade Caramel Sauce Recipe.
  • Confectioners Sugar. You may need to sift this if it’s lumpy.

Topping

  • Toffee Bits. This adds the perfect crunch and sweetness to the dip.

The entire ingredients and recipe can be found at the bottom of the page.

Variations

  • Toffee. If you cannot find toffee bits, you can crush Heath bars and top the dip with these instead.
  • Chocolate Chips. These make a great addition to this dip. Sprinkle a few on top to make it even more decadent.
  • Nuts. Sprinkle chopped nuts on top. We like pecans and walnuts.
  • Apples. We like the chunks of apple in the dip. However, if you prefer a smoother consistency, blend everything using a food processor.
  • Cream Cheese. You can substitute reduced fat cream cheese. However, we think full fat cream cheese is best in this dip. It provides the perfect texture and flavor for this recipe.

How to Make Caramel Apple Cheesecake Dip

Cream cheese, apples and caramel sauce in a bowl.

Step 1. Add all of the dip ingredients into a mixing bowl.  Then use a hand mixer on medium speed to cream the ingredients together. The mixer will also help to chop up the apples into smaller pieces.

Dip mixture combined together in a bowl.

Step 2. Spread the cream cheese mixture into a serving bowl.  Place in the fridge for at least 30 minutes or until ready to serve.

Caramel drizzled on top of dip.

Step 3. When you are ready to serve, add the toppings. Drizzle the cream cheese layer with the caramel sauce.

Candy sprinkled on top.

Step 4. Then add the crunchy toffee bits. Don’t stir into the dip but leave on top.

Serving Ideas

  • Fresh apple slices. Granny Smith apples, Gala or Golden Delicious. We like to use Granny Smith because tart apples balances out the sweetness of the dip. Feel free to use your favorite type of fresh apples.
  • Pear Slices. The flavor of fresh fruit tastes delicious with this caramel dip.
  • Graham Crackers. Honey, Cinnamon or Chocolate.
  • Vanilla Wafers. This classic wafer is always so good with the dip.
  • Animal Crackers. Original or Chocolate.
  • Pretzels. Sticks or twists are perfect for this recipe.

Storage

Refrigerate any leftover dip covered for up to 5 days. It can be made up to a day in advance.

Pro Tips

  • Chill before serving. The dip can be served immediately after making it. However, we find itโ€™s best to serve after it has been refrigerated for at least 30 minutes. This allows the ingredients to set and the flavors to combine.
  • Try a different container. This dessert dip can be made on a pie plate if you prefer a thinner layer of dip.
  • Use an electric mixer. An electric mixer helps to make this dip smooth and creamy. While I love my stand mixer, I prefer to use my handheld mixer for smaller recipes such as this.
  • Softened cream cheese. Allow the cream cheese to soften at room temperature before using. This will make it much easier to combine and the dip will be smoother.
