How to Make Chocolate Chip Rice Krispie Treats
- Step 1 – First, spray a 9X13 pan with a nonstick cooking spray.
Step 2. Next, melt the butter and cup of mini marshmallows in a large bowl. Heat it in 30 second increments. Don’t forget to stir with a rubber spatula between each increment until fully melted.
Step 3. Once it’s melted, mix in the Rice Krispie cereal until completely coated. Then let the cereal and melted marshmallows mixture sit at room temperature for 5-8 minutes to cool slightly.
Step 4. Fold in the chocolate chips gently so that they don’t melt. Spread evenly into the prepared pan.
Step 5. Use a piece of wax to press the Rice Krispies mixture into the bottom of the baking pan. I like to spray the wax paper with cooking spray so that it doesn’t stick to the wax paper. Then allow to cool and cut into squares with a sharp knife.
