Everyone loves cookie dough so I’m pretty sure this new recipe will be a hit. Cookie dough bars are the perfect blend of chocolate chips, M&M candy and the creamiest cookie dough ever. No bake dessert recipes are perfect for busy schedules and we also make No Bake Chocolate Peanut Butter Bars.

Ingredients

Cookie Dough

  • unsalted butter softened

Variations

  • Chocolate Chips. Substitute dark chocolate chips in this recipe for a different taste. You can also use mini chocolate chips.
  • Sprinkles. Add festive sprinkles to the top of the chocolate.
  • Sea Salt. Sprinkle sea salt on top of the bars before the chocolate sets.
  • Step 1. First, get your pan ready. You need an 8X8 baking pan for this recipe. Cover it with parchment paper or foil and spray it with cooking spray. Set aside.

Step 2. Second, cream together the brown sugar and butter. You can use a handheld mixer or a stand mixer. Just make sure everything is combined really good and creamy.

Step 3. Once the mixture is combined, go ahead and add the vanilla. Mix for another minute.

Step 4. Next, add the all purpose flour and sweetened condensed milk.  You will need to gradually alternate between these ingredients until you have added both and a soft dough form.

Step 5. Now, it is time for the chocolate topping! This step needs to be mixed by hand. Add the miniature chocolate chips and M&M’s into the dough and fold together.

Step 6. Finally, press the dough into the square baking pan. Make sure it is an even layer. You may need to push down and smooth it out until it looks even. Place the pan in the freezer for about 30 minutes while you get the topping ready.

Step 7. First, put the chocolate chips and butter in a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave in 30-second increments until it is melted. Make sure to stir between each interval. It is important to watch this closely and cook in increments to prevent it from burning.

Step 8. Once the chocolate has melted, pour it evenly over the cookie dough layer. Press the M&M’s into the melted chocolate ganache.

Step 9. Put the bars in the fridge for at least 2 hours for the ganache to harden. The edible cookie dough bars need to remain chilled until ready to serve. Cut into small squares.


Recipe Tips

  • Serve with ice cream to make this even more decadent. I love to break up the bars into pieces in ice cream.
  • Try other types of candy. Reese’s pieces are delicious if you like peanut butter. Try substituting those for M&M’s.
  • You can use any type of chocolate chips. If you don’t have mini, just use regular size. Dark chocolate is also delicious. We have even mixed white chocolate morsels and milk chocolate together. So good!
  • Make sure to line your pan with parchment paper and spray with cooking spray. It makes everything much easier for removing and for cleanup.

Ingredients

  • For cookie dough:
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 cups flour
  • 14 oz can sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 cup miniature chocolate chips
  • 1 cup miniature M&M’s
  • For topping:
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1/2 cup miniature M&M’s

Instructions

  • Cover an 8X8 baking pan with parchment paper or foil and spray it with a non stick cooking spray.
  • Beat together the brown sugar and butter with a hand held mixer or a stand up mixture until they are combined and creamy.  Add the vanilla and beat for one more minute.
  • Then add in the flour and condensed milk.  Slowly alternating between the 2 until both have been completely added and a soft dough forms.
  • Next hand stir in the miniature chocolate chips and M&M’s into the dough.
  • Then press the dough in an even layer in the prepared pan and place in the freezer for approximately 30 minutes while you prepare the topping.
  • To make the topping, place the chocolate chips and butter in a bowl and microwave in 30 second increments until melted (stir between each interval).
  • Then spread the chocolate evenly over the cookie dough layer and press the M&M’s into the chocolate.
  • Chill the bars in the fridge for at least 2 hours. Keep chilled until ready to serve, then cut into squares and enjoy.
