How to Make Deep Fried Nutella

Dollops of Nutella on baking sheet.

Step 1. Freeze the Nutella. Line 2 baking sheets with parchment paper.  Drop the Nutella into dollops on the baking sheets on the parchment paper. They do not need to be perfect round balls, just drop it onto the baking sheet. Then freeze for 2-4 hours.

Batter in bowl mixed together.

Step 2. Heat 3 inches of oil in a deep pot or frying pan until the oil reaches 350 degrees.  You can use a deep fryer or heat the oil in a large pot. While the oil is heating up, combine the batter. Mix together the pancake mix, egg, milk and vegetable oil in a bowl.

Powdered sugar sprinkled on top of fried nutella.

Step 4. Then sift the powder sugar over the top. Serve immediately while warm.

How to Serve

This is best served warm as soon as you make them. You can also top with No Churn Vanilla Ice Cream and enjoy these decadent little Nutella bites.

Try sprinkling a cinnamon sugar mixture on top. We also liked these drizzled with Hot Fudge Sauce Recipe and topped with Homemade Whipped Cream Recipe.

They are also great plain. Either way, they will be a hit.

Pro Tips

  • Pancake Batter. You can use any brand of pancake batter or homemade pancake batter for this recipe.
  • Peanut Butter. Substitute peanut butter for the Nutella in this recipe. Freeze and cook as normal.

Peanut butter fans will love this option. You can also combine nutella and peanut butter together.
  • Serve fresh. These are best served fresh as they do get soft as they are stored.

Storage

Place the Fried Nutella inside an airtight container. Store in the refrigerator up to 5 days.  Reheat in oil or an air fryer to make them crispy again before enjoying.

This will help the Nutella bites to taste fresh and crispy. Although, we never have a lot of leftovers because everyone loves them so much.
