Step by step instructions
- Step 1. First, go ahead and preheat the oven to 350 degrees f. Then line a 9X9 baking pan with parchment paper and make sure that the paper over hangs the pan for easy removal of the brownies.

Step 2. Get out a large bowl, whisk together the vegetable oil, Guinness, sugar and vanilla extract.

Step 3. Next, add in the butter and eggs. Mix until well combined. In a separate bowl, stir together the flour and cocoa powder until combined.

Step 4. Then add the dry ingredients into the butter/oil mixture until just combined. Spread the batter into the baking dish. Bake for 35-38 minutes until a toothpick inserted into the center of the brownies comes out clean or with moist crumbs.

Step 5. Allow the brownies to cool completely at room temperature on a wire rack before topping them with the frosting.

Step 6. While the brownies cool, make the frosting. Beat the butter. I used a large mixing bowl of a stand mixer with a paddle attachment. Beat until light and fluffy (approximately 1 minute).

Step 7. Next, gradually add the powdered sugar. Combine on low speed until combined. Then add in the vanilla extract and Guinness beer. Continue to mix until the frosting is smooth. Then check the frosting consistency and gradually add in the last tablespoon of Guinness until the frosting is the consistency you prefer.

Step 8. Spread the frosting over the cooled brownies.

Step 9. Remove the brownies from the pan by lifting them up with the parchment paper. Slice the brownies into squares and then they are ready to serve and enjoy!

Storage
Refrigerate the leftovers in an airtight container up to 5-6 days.
