Why We Love This Recipe
All of the wonderful flavor of Nutella is combined into brownie batter for a real treat. It is absolutely luscious and so decadent.
You will not be disappointed and it’s so easy.
Ingredients

- Unsalted Butter. Softened at room temperature.
- Brown Sugar. The Best Brown Sugar Substitutes
- Large Eggs. They need to be room temperature.
- Vanilla Extract. Pure vanilla extract is best.
- Nutella. I prefer Nutella brand but you can use other types of hazlenut spread.
- All Purpose Flour. Spoon into a measuring cup so it’s most accurate.
- Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips. Use good quality chocolate.
Step by Step Instructions
- Step 1. Preheat the oven and get the pan ready. Set the oven to 350 degrees and line an 8X8 baking dish with parchment paper.

Step 2. Cream together the butter and brown sugar. Use a hand or stand mixer to beat until creamy and fluffy. Don’t forget to scrape down the sides of the bowl.

Step 3. Add the eggs and the vanilla. Then combine.

Step 4. Next, add the Nutella and the salt.

Step 5. Stir the flour into the batter. Do this by hand so you don’t overmix it. Then gently stir in the chocolate chips.

Step 6. Spread the batter into the pan.

Step 7. Carefully drop spoonfuls of the remaining Nutella on top of the batter.

Step 8. Use a butter knife or plastic knife to spread the Nutella into the batter.

Step 9. Finally, bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the brownies comes out clean. Don’t insert the toothpick into the Nutella on top of the brownies. Then remove the brownies from the oven and let cool completely on a wire rack. Cut and enjoy.

Storage
Store any leftover brownies in an airtight container. They can be left at room temperature up to 5 days.
If you need to store them longer, freeze up to 3 months. Allow to cool and place inside a freezer bag or container.
Pro Tips
- Oven times vary. Each oven cooks differently. Make sure to watch the brownies closely while they are cooking and be careful not to overcook.
- Don’t overmix the batter. Combine the ingredients until just combined. You do not want to overmix, or the texture will change.
- Fold in the chocolate chips. Add this by hand and don’t use the electric mixer.
- Line the pan. I prefer to line the pan with parchment paper with an overhang. This will make it easy to lift the entire pan out and cut.
- Get perfect slices. Wipe the knife clean after each cut. This will help to get clean slices every time.
