There isn’t anything much better than a warm chocolate chip cookie. Well, at least I didn’t think so until I made this crock pot chocolate chip cookie cake. This slow cooker desserts recipes is full of chocolate, gooey flavor.

This recipe reminds me of our Chocolate Chip Pizookie Recipe but in a crock pot. This is special enough for Sunday lunch but easy enough to make for a weeknight treat.

Ingredients:

  • Butter-  softened
  • Sugar
  • Brown Sugar
  • Vanilla
  • Eggs
  • Flour
  • Salt
  • Baking Soda
  • Chocolate Chips – I just throw in two handfuls.
  • Caramel – I love this easy recipe for  caramel sauce.
  • Ice Cream – This is another optional but highly suggested item. Serving this dessert ice cream is the perfect combination.

  • Step 1 – Beat Wet Ingredients – First, you will need a large mixing bowl. Beat the butter, sugar, brown sugar and vanilla until fluffy. I normally use my stand mixer. It makes everything go so fast and it’s so easy to get the mixture light and fluffy.
  • Step 2 – Add the Eggs – Second, add the eggs to the mixture and beat until well combined.
  • Step 3 – Mix in Dry Ingredients – Next, add the flour, salt and baking soda. Mix this together slowly until everything is mixed together.
  • Step 4 – Mix in Chocolate Chips – Add the chocolate chips but do this by hand and gently fold them into the cookie dough mixture.
  • Step 5 – Grease Crock Pot – Finally, grease your crock pot. Another tip is to line with parchment paper.
  • Step 6 – Place Half Batter in Slow Cooker – Place about half of the batter into the crock pot. This is optional but I like to drizzle some of the caramel sauce. Nuts are also a great add in as well.
  • Step 7 – Add remaining batter – Use the remaining batter and spread in the crock pot. You can add any other toppings you would like. Try more caramel, hot fudge or nuts.

  • Step 9 – Cover and Cook – This does not take long to cook. Cook on high, your cookie should take about 2 hours.

Your house will smell amazing as this cooks! It really is a fabulous dessert. This dessert is rich and decadent and always a crowd favorite.

  • Peanut Butter Morsels – Mix in peanut butter morsels with the chocolate chips.
  • Add in Variations of Chocolate Chips – Try adding white chocolate chips or dark chocolate chips.
  • Mix in Nuts – Add nuts- walnuts and pecans are delicious.
  • Top with Vanilla Ice Cream – We love vanilla ice cream on top but you can also try butter pecan, chocolate and rocky round.

Slow cooking is such a time saver and you will love having dessert ready to enjoy. If you are like me, you have several crock pots so you can use one for dessert and one for your main dish.

Perfect!

Recipe Tips:

  • Room Temperature – Make sure when storing the chocolate chip cookie cake, it is at room temperature.
  • Slow Cooker Size – We recommend making this recipe in a 6 quart slow cooker. If you double the recipe, you may need to use a larger slow cooker.
  • Remove Insert – If you prefer you can remove the insert when serving this dessert.
  • Make in the Oven – If you prefer, you can make this Chocolate Chip Cookie Cake in the oven. Simply press the dough in a 9×13 baking dish. Bake in a oven at 325 degrees for about 45 minutes or until the edges are golden brown.
  • Cooking – Check the cookie after about an hour to make sure it is not burning. You may need to turn on low if the parchment paper is burning or the cookie edges are burning.
  • Combining Ingredients – We like to combine the ingredients with a stand mixer or hand held mixer. Mix in the chocolate chips by hand for best results.
  • Room Temperature Ingredients – Before mixing the butter in, make sure it is softened. This helps to beat the butter in evenly.

How to Make Sure it doesn’t Stick:

  • I strongly recommend using cooking spray so it is easier to clean your crock pot.
  • You can also line it with parchment paper.
  • Crock pot liners also work great.
