Ingredients:

Ingredients for grinch pretzels - Mini Pretzel Twists, candy melts, red heart sprinkle
  • Mini Pretzel Twists
  • Green Candy Melts
  • Red Heart Sprinkle

Variations:

  • Pretzel Rods. This recipe can easily be adapted to use pretzel rod. Simply dip a portion of the rods in the candy melts and top with sprinkles as normal.
  • White chocolate Chips. You can use melted chocolate instead of candy melts if you prefer. Then add in green food coloring for the perfect green color.
  • Sprinkles. If you don’t have heart sprinkles, you can drizzle melted red candy melts on each pretzel. You can even use red sugar sprinkles in a pinch.

Step by Step Instructions:

  • Step 1Prepared Baking Sheet – Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or wax paper to help with cleanup.

Step 4 – Dip half of the mini pretzels twists in the melted candy melts and then place on the baking sheet in a single layer.

Step 5 – Immediately top each one with a heart sprinkle before the candy melts dries.

  • Step 6 – Allow to harden. Let the pretzels sit until the candy hardens. It will take 1 to 2 hours. They need to be completely set before storing or they will stick to each other.
  • Step 7 – Seve and enjoy Grinch Bites. Then the pretzels are ready to serve and enjoy.

Recipe Tips:

  • Allow to harden. The pretzels need to completely set before storing inside the container. This normally takes 1 to 2 hours.
  • Add sprinkles right away. Top each pretzel with a red heart as soon as you dip in the candy melts. This will help it to adhere to the pretzel. Don’t wait to do this or the sprinkles might not stick.

How to Store:

Store this grinch themed leftovers in an airtight container for up to 2 weeks.  Place wax paper in between the pretzels. They do not need to be refrigerated and can be left at room temperature.

Can you Freeze?

Yes, this recipe can easily be frozen. Allow to cool and harden completely. If they have not cooled completely, it will cause a layer of condensation to form on the pretzels.

Place inside an airtight container or bag that is suitable for the freezer.

We suggest putting wax paper in between the layers of pretzels so they do not stick. This treat can be frozen up to 2 months. This method is great for parties and to save time during the holidays.
