How to Make S’mores Puppy Chow
Step 1. In a microwave safe bowl, combine the chocolate chips, peanut butter, vegetable oil and vanilla extract. Microwave for 30 seconds on high.
Step 2. Stir and heat until melted. Cook in 15 second intervals until melted and smooth. My chocolate took about 60 seconds.
Step 3. Next, add the melted ingredients to the cereal. Quickly stir to coat.
Step 4. Get out a one gallon ziplock bag. Pour ½ of the powdered sugar.
Step 5. Then pour ½ of the coated cereal into the other gallon bag. Seal close and shake to coat the cereal. Follow this process in the 2nd bag as well.

How to Serve Puppy Chow
We like to serve puppy chow in a big bowl, but you can also serve in cupcake liners. Puppy chow is also a great addition to a charcuterie board.
Expert Tips
- Mixing the Ingredients – We like to mix the ingredients other than the powdered sugar in a large mixing bowl. Then we transfer to a zip lock bag to cover in the powdered sugar.
- Powdered Sugar – To cover evenly it is best to coat your ingredients in a large zip lock bag. We have tried other methods and this one works best.
- Make a Large Batch – Puppy chow is so addicting no mater the holiday we make it. So I always make a large batch.
Storage
Store in an airtight container for up to a week and enjoy! Ours never lasts that long though because we eat it quickly. We really love it.
It is ok out for a day or so but it will keep longer in the fridge. Like I said, we eat this super fast because it is a treat we all love!

It doesn’t specify what kind of chocolate chips…semisweet or milk?
I generally use milk chocolate chops but either will work great.
