Pro Tips

  • Try adding fun mix-ins. Some ideas include: Reece’s Pieces, M&M’s, Mini Hershey Bars cut into chunks, sprinkles and more. Broken pretzel pieces also combine nicely in this recipe.
  • Large mixing bowl. You need plenty of room to thoroughly coat the cereal in the melted chocolate mixture.
  • Lined baking sheet. Clean up will be much easier if you line the baking sheet with parchment paper. The mixture is sticky until dried. You will be so glad you used the paper.
  • Peanut Butter. We don’t recommend using natural peanut butter in this recipe. The texture is not the same as it does not bind as well to the ingredients. Also, creamy is best and not chunky peanut butter.
  • Cereal. While Chex Cereal is traditionally used, you can also use Crispix Cereal for a similar alternative.
