Ingredients for Unicorn fudge.
  • White Chocolate Chips. Use a good quality chocolate. My favorite is Ghirardelli.
  • White Frosting. I used store bought.
  • Pink, Purple or Blue Food Coloring. Feel free to change the colors to coordinate with your unicorn parties.
  • Miniature Marshmallow. The small size is perfect in the fudge.
  • Rainbow Sprinkles. I like to use sprinkles that match the food coloring.

Recipe Variations and Substitutions

  • Topping. Feel free to use any type of sprinkles on the fudge. You can try different shapes, colors, and more.
  • Chocolate. Substitute almond bark or white baking chocolate in the recipe.
  • Try different colors. You can use any color you prefer. It is so fun to try different food coloring to match other holidays, themes, and occasions.

How to Make Unicorn Fudge

  • Step 1 – Prepare the pan. Line an 8X8 baking pan with foil or line the pan parchment paper and spray with a non-stick cooking spray for easy removal of the fudge.
Bowl with melted white chocolate.

Step 2. Melt the chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl. Heat in 30 second increments and stir between each one. Heat until the chocolate is completely melted.

Mixing bowl with frosting added to chocolate.

Step 3. Stir in the vanilla frosting.

Separate bowls with food coloring added to fudge mixture.

Step 4. Then separate the mixture evenly into 3 bowls. Stir in the pink food coloring, purple food coloring and blue food colouring into each one of the bowls until each bowl is your desired shade.

Fudge dolloped into pan alternating colors.

Step 5. Next, drop a spoonful of each color into the 8X8 pan using a random pattern.

Fudge swirled back and forth to create a pattern.

Step 6. Swirl the fudge with a knife. Run it through the fudge to create a swirl pattern. Don’t swirl excessively so that you still have the contrast of the colors.

Step 7. Top with marshmallows and sprinkles. Gently press them down into the fudge.  Refrigerate the fudge for 2-3 hours until the fudge is set.  Then cut and enjoy.

Storage

Store the leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 1 month or freeze for up to 3-4 months.  Allow to thaw at room temperature before serving if frozen.

Make sure to use a freezer container or bag. We recommend placing wax paper between the layers of fudge.

Pro Tips

  • Don’t overcook the chocolate. It is important to melt this in intervals to avoid burning it.
  • Swirl the colors gently. Use a knife to swirl the different colors together. Be careful that you do not swirl too much or you risk blending everything together. It will not be as pretty if this happens.
  • Press the topping. Make sure to add the topping before the fudge mixture sets or it will not stick. You might also want to gently press it into the fudge to secure it.
  • Line the pan. Not only does this help with clean up but it makes it easy to remove for cutting. You can lift the fudge out easily and place it on a cutting board to cut.
