  • Graham Crackers. Plain honey graham crackers.
  • Butter. Make sure to use real butter.
  • Brown Sugar. Homemade Brown Sugar Recipe is easy to make.
  • Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips. Semi sweet helps to cut down on the sweetness.
  • Red and Green M&Ms. These seasonal chocolate candies look so festive.
  • Red and Green Sprinkles. Decorate with your favorite Christmas sprinkles.

Variations and Additions

  • Different Nuts – Add in some chopped nuts such as peanuts, slice almonds, chopped pecans, or chopped walnuts.
  • Candy Canes – Top the bark with some crushed candy canes or peppermints. We love making peppermint bark with peppermint extract.
  • Marshmallows – Add mini marshmallows to the top of the Christmas Bark texture and flavor.

How to Make Christmas Bark

  • Step 1. Preheat the oven to 350 Fahrenheit.

Step 2. Line a jelly roll pan with foil. Then spray it with non-stick cooking spray. Place graham crackers on the bottom of the baking sheet.

Brown sugar and butter mixture in a saucepan.

Step 3. Get out a saucepan. Melt the butter over low-medium heat. Stir in the brown sugar.  Bring to a boil and continue boiling for 3 minutes.

Step 4. Remove the mixture from the heat right away. Pour over the crackers covering the crackers completely. Put the pan in the oven for 4-5 minutes, or until the edges of the brown sugar mixture gets bubbly.

Step 5. Remove the pan from the oven. Immediately sprinkle the chocolate chips on top of the crackers. Allow the crackers to sit for 5 minutes to melt the chocolate. Then use a spatula to spread the melted chocolate over the crackers.

Step 6. Add the M&Ms and sprinkles on top. Place the pan in the refrigerator to allow the bark to harden.

Step 7. Then remove the bark from the pan and break it apart.

Storage

Store the bark inside an airtight container. Make sure it is completely set before storing.

  • Preheat the oven to 350 Fahrenheit.ย

  • Immediately remove from heat and pour bubbly mixture over crackers covering the crackers completely.
  • Place the pan in the oven for 4-5 minutes, or just until the edges of brown sugar mixture gets bubbly.
  • Remove the pan from the oven and immediately sprinkle the chocolate chips on top of the crackers.
  • Allow the crackers to sit for 5 minutes to melt the chocolate. Then use a spatula to spread the melted chocolate over the cracker layer evenly.
  • Sprinkle the M&Ms and sprinkles on top.ย 
  • Place the pan in the refrigerator to allow the bark to harden.
  • Then remove the bark from the pan and break it apart. Enjoy!

Recipe Notes

Store the leftover bark in a ziplock bag in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.ย  Place parchment paper in between the single layers so they donโ€™t stick to each other.
