What is Puppy Chow?

It is a delicious treat with chocolate, peanut butter and lots of powdered sugar. These simple ingredients are mixed with Chex Mix cereal for a delicious treat. It is the perfect party mix.

This milk chocolate treat isn’t safe for dogs or intended for pets. It is just a fun name for an easy and tasty recipe.

Ingredients needed - Chex Cereal, creamy peanut butter, green candy melts, oil, powdered sugar, ziplock bags, chocolate chips, green sprinkles

Ingredients

  • Chex Cereal
  • Creamy Peanut Butter
  • Green Candy Melts
  • Vegetable Oil
  • Powdered Sugar
  • Ziplock bags
  • White Chocolate Chips
  • Green Sprinkles (optional) (Try these green sprinkles.)

The sprinkles are totally optional but I think really add a little something special to this recipe. If you aren’t a huge sprinkles fan, try the sugar sprinkles.

Recipe Tips for St Patrick’s Day Muddy Buddies:

  • Melt the candy in intervals. Be careful when melting the green candy coating as it will burn easily.  Heat in small intervals. Continue to stir and allow the heat from the rest of the candy to melt the remaining candy.
  • Coat the cereal right away. Don’t let the melted candy coating cool or harden before coating in the cake mix. If you wait too long, it will not stick to the cereal.
